I believe I need either a video mixer or converter/adapter with HDMI input to capture the camera's output and the device's USB output into the computer. I now understand I can't capture the D800E's HDMI video directly by my iMac. Up to this point, I have had no experience with video (recording, streaming, whatever). That probably means it's in the "if you have to ask." category.
I tried to find pricing for the Extron active converter that's pictured and linked on the page but gave up after 5 minutes or so.
